Sheba Medical Center, in Israel, is a trailblazer in the healthcare industry, aiming to revolutionize the way healthcare is delivered worldwide. At the heart of this transformative institution lies the Accelerate Redesign and Collaborate (ARC) initiative, which serves as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration, driving healthcare advancements on both local and global scales.

Sheba Medical Center recognizes that innovation can arise through two distinct avenues: open and organic. Open innovation involves engaging with external stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and seeking fresh perspectives from diverse sources. We learnt that this collaborative approach allows Sheba Medical Center to tap into the collective wisdom and expertise of a global network, accelerating the development of groundbreaking solutions. Conversely, organic innovation stems from within the organization, nurtured by the expertise and dedication of its medical professionals. Sheba Medical Center fosters a culture that encourages and supports the exploration of new ideas, enabling internal innovation to flourish.

The ARC initiative lies at the core of Sheba Medical Center's transformative agenda. The acronym represents the three pillars guiding its innovation strategy: acceleration, redesign, and collaboration. By accelerating the pace of advancements, Sheba Medical Center aims to implement cutting-edge technologies, therapies, and practices for the benefit of patients globally. It was inspiring to see their razor focus on pushing boundaries of what is possible in healthcare.

Redesigning healthcare models is another crucial aspect of Sheba Medical Center's approach. By challenging traditional systems and structures, the institution seeks to create more efficient, patient-centered, and sustainable healthcare solutions. Collaboration forms the third pillar of ARC, as Sheba Medical Center actively engages with partners, both domestically and internationally, to foster a global healthcare network built on shared knowledge and expertise. We learnt that this collaborative ecosystem enables the rapid exchange of ideas and facilitates the implementation of innovative solutions on a global scale.
